In Vitro Fertilization

In vitro fertilization treatment has been used successfully for many years in couples who cannot have children by natural methods. In vitro fertilization treatment, an assisted reproductive technique; It offers the opportunity to have children to couples who cannot have children due to metabolic disorders such as infertility of unknown cause, advanced age, infection and blockages in the tubes in women, low sperm count and poor quality, and obesity in men. In vitro fertilization treatment, which is the most preferred infertility treatment today, is an artificial fertilization technique applied by bringing female and male reproductive cells together under laboratory conditions and placing the fertilized egg in the mother's uterus. This process is carried out by collecting the egg, which is the female reproductive cell, and the sperm, which are the male reproductive cells, under certain conditions. After fertilization is completed in a healthy way, the egg is waited to begin its division process and turn into a structure called embryo, and then the pregnancy process begins as a result of the embryo being placed in the mother's uterus and attached successfully. After this stage, pregnancy is no different from pregnancies that occur through natural methods.

In in vitro fertilization treatment, two different methods are used to place eggs fertilized in a laboratory environment into the uterus. In the first of these, classical in vitro fertilization treatment, egg cells and sperm cells are left side by side in a certain environment and expected to self-fertilize. In another method, microinjection, sperm cells are injected directly into the egg cell using special pipettes. Which of these two techniques should be preferred is decided by specialist physicians according to the individual characteristics of the couple. The aim of the treatment process is to provide the most suitable environment for fertilization and a healthy pregnancy.

What is in Vitro Fertilization

In in vitro fertilization treatment, the egg cell taken from the mother and the father's sperm cells are brought together in a laboratory environment outside the female reproductive system and an embryo is obtained by one of the sperm fertilizing the egg. As a result of placing the embryo obtained in this way into the mother's uterus, it becomes possible to achieve pregnancy in people who cannot become pregnant using normal methods.

For women over the age of 35 or who have previously had any problems affecting pregnancy, it is sufficient to try for 6 months. If pregnancy has not occurred at the end of this period, the necessary treatment procedure should be started as soon as possible to prevent further age and loss of time.
